Occupation
I am Commodore George Dewey of the United States Navy. I entered the Norwich Military School at age fifteen, after leaving the Norwich Military school I accepted an appointment as an acting midshipman in the US Navy and enrolled at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. After my Graduation from the Us Naval Academy on June 11, 1858 I was appointed as a midshipman and assigned to the steam frigate USS Wabash. Right before the Civil war I received the rank of lieutenant and was assigned to USS Mississippi in the Gulf of Mexico. During the Civil war I was promoted to executive officer of Captain Melancton Smith. After the war on March 3, 1865 I was promoted to lieutenant commander and served as executive officer of the USS Kearsarge. I was later promoted commander on April 13, 1872. Then later, on May 1, 1898 after the Battle of Manila Bay and the destruction of Montojo's entire fleet, I was promoted to rear admiral (aka: Commodore).

Position
As far as my opinion on this issue concerning whether or not Imperialism is right or wrong as well as the annexation of the Philippines, my opinion doesn’t really matter because I am a rear Admiral (aka: Commodore) of the US Navy and I will follow my orders, and do as I am told. So yes, I am completely for Imperialism and the annexation of the Philippines. As for the outcome of the situation, thus far I have received much notoriety for my accomplishments in the Philippines, which is very pleasing and encouraging to me.

Reasons for interest
· Being a Rear Admiral (aka: Commodore)I will do what I am ordered to do.
· So far I am very pleased with the outcome of the situation in the Philippines.
